CARB Phase 2 is part of California’s Composite Wood Products Regulation, aimed at reducing formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, including hardwood plywood, particleboard, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF).
This regulation, which came into effect in 2010, establishes much stricter limits on formaldehyde emissions compared to the previous phase, reducing allowable levels to just 0.05 parts per million (ppm).
Being CARB Phase 2 compliant means that products meet these low-emission standards, promoting healthier indoor air quality and environmental responsibility.
